Director Diane McFarlin is auditioning men and women ages high school – adult to fill up to 9 slots (some actors covering dual roles)
This play by Karen Zacarias, inspired by the nonfiction book by Helen Thorpe, follows the lives of four young Hispanic women beginning in high school through their post secondary experiences. Two of these young women are undocumented and two are documented US citizens. We meet family and friends as well as others normally encountered in the “journey to discover interests and passions in the world.” We follow the journey through the lens of a reporter who gathers first- hand knowledge as she documents the experiences and tries to understand the feelings of inequity and fear experienced by those who aren’t legal citizens.
I would like to find young people of Hispanic decent to be part of our production this year. All are welcome!! There are many roles to fill.
Please email Diane McFarlin (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions that you may have or fill out contact form below.
Production dates are Friday, Jan. 19 at 7:00; Saturday, Jan. 20 at 7:00 and Sunday, Jan. 21 at 2:00 in Kaneland High School’s Black Box Theatre.
Rehearsals will be held in Sugar Grove.
