From the Desk of the Executive Director – HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year

I always love the new year.  In the middle of the school year, it’s fun to have a fresh start – after an intermission, it’s like having Act II.

Our year has been great fun so far – the SHOUT OUT! Excited about Education event was a new and innovative way to start our season.  On January 3rd, we will ring the new year in with Lee Murdock’s Annual Hometown Concert featuring guest artists Joe Filisko and Eric Noden at 7:30 pm in the Kaneland Auditorium.  Following in the same month, we will be presenting our 2nd Annual Winter Theatre Production, the Staged Reading of The Diary of Anne Frank directed by KAI’s Artistic Director, Diane McFarlin in the Kaneland Black Box Theatre (January 23 – 25).  On February 20th, we will host our annual Fine Arts Feast inviting new and continuing Individual Arts Patrons to partner with us in our individual donor campaign.  After that time, we will throw ourselves into the preparations for the 16th Annual Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival, which will showcase our Kaneland Students and so many talented professional artists presenting their beautiful and creative work.  In June on the 7th, please join us for the Dreams Dance Spring Recital.  Our year ends with the 6th Annual Kaneland Summer Theatre Production, to be announced soon, in July.  Mark your calendars now!

As you can see, we have an exciting 2nd Act to our season and hope that you’ll join us!

Thanks for being a part of our work and we look forward to an Artsy 2015!
