The following is the September submission to the Elburn Herald’s Community Corner. Look for it in the September 5th edition.
As the new 2013 – 2014 season of the Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival is unveiled, the organization that has brought the Fine Arts to the Kaneland Community since 1998 gets a few upgrades of its own. The Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival is the name for the organization that has brought quality performing and visual arts to the Kaneland Auditorium and into the Kaneland schools. Such artists include the St. Charles Singers, the Spellbinder, Calligrapher Timothy Botts, Glass Fusing Artist Larry Cimaglio, the NIU Steel Band, and Chicago Ballet. The same organization has produced the ever-popular summer community musicals of “Music Man,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Rogers and Hammerstein Cinderella,” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival describes both the organization that produces Arts events for the Kaneland schools as well as the founding event held annually in April. To better clarify, the organization name will now be called “Kaneland Arts Initiative,” KAI for short, pronounced “K-EYE.” The outstanding Arts programs will continue to be produced by the Kaneland Arts Initiative as well as the award winning Kaneland Community Fine Arts Festival, April 13, 2014. In addition to the name change, the Kaneland Arts Initiative has a new website, kanelandartsinitiative.org, and an updated logo will be revealed soon.
The 2013 – 2014 Kaneland Arts Initiative season promises to uphold the quality and affordability expected of Arts programming at Kaneland. The following is the list of events for the upcoming year. More information regarding these events can be found on the new website.

Kaneland Arts Initiative is pleased to present its mission to the community, recently upgraded along with the scope and goals, by the KAI Board of Directors:

We look forward to celebrating a year of the Arts with the Kaneland Community!
